Lend Me a Tenor One Act Play

Minnetonka Theatre is excited to present Lend Me A Tenor, the program's 2025 entry in the Minnesota State High School League’s one act competition. This 35-minute cutting of the full-length play will be followed by a talk back with the directors, cast and crew. Artistic Director Trent Boyum shared, “We are excited to bring this hilarious comedy to our Minnetonka audiences. It has all the ingredients that make comedy great: slamming doors, mistaken identities, and passionate, desperate, characters. Come prepared to laugh!”

About the Show
Winner of 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards, Lend Me A Tenor is set in September 1954. Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. A sensation on Broadway and in London's West End, this comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.

This spring, the inaugural class of Minnetonka High School VANTAGE Fashion students collaborated with the school’s Best Buddies program to host the first “Redefining the Runway” fashion show. The event was a fundraiser for the Best Buddies Minnetonka Chapter, a club that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
